Wordpress

It is version 3.3 already, WordPress is moving but in fact, some plugins don’t. Meaning you risk being abandoned by the plugin authors and at some point the plugins might not be compatible with newer versions of WordPress and stop working or cause all sorts of complications or errors. How big is this threat you might ask?

We all know WordPress is great but somehow many people miss out on some of the best stuff. Like me, there are many other people who don’t have very good writing skills, there’s also people who don’t know anything about SEO or website optimization. Almost everybody knows where the powerful free tracking services are at. So, how come that not everybody is using them on their WordPress powered website?

I think Google provides excellent service and training on both, their Google Analytics and Website Optimizer. So, what’s left is the implementation into WordPress. Then it is wise for almost everybody to do some sort of spell checking, then analyse the content and make sure it is served as fast as possible to the readers of your site.

A recent test on this website revealed an incredible page load time. Let’s blame it on the carefully selected and configured plugins used, and then some! Even during caching of the pages the speed was impressive to me. Here are the results…

While cashing page load time:

[wordpress quick cache stats]

[seo-moz toolbar]

Already cached page load time:

[wordpress quick cache stats]

[seo-moz toolbar]

You can see there is a difference in speed results from the both resources. Never mind the reason both, are very acceptable. The whole thing basically boils down to a loading time of less then a second either way you interpret the above results.
